A Nieman Is A Freeman

[In a letter circulated to Nieman fellows immediately following their selection last summer, Mr. Lyons wrote: "A Nieman year is meant to be a year of freedom in the University, so there are no degrees, no credits, no requirements. It is as individual a year as you care to make it."
