Highlights of May Day were:

NEW YORK--Eight marchers were arrested on charges of desecrating the American flag when they used it to collect coins in a parade down Eighth Avenue us 3,000 policemen stood guard and an estimated 100,000 persons marched.

TOKYO--Military police seized a suspect in the alleged plot to assassinate General Douglas MacArthur while a crowd of 300,000 demonstrated outside the Imperial Palace.
