One hundred-seventy short-winded and flabby-muscled House football enthusiasts have been running through light drills, learning basic plays, and receiving much-needed physical conditioning this week in preparation for the season's opening as October 17.
Coaches assigned to each of the seven Houses and to Dudley by Adolph Samborski '26, Director of Intramural Athletics, have spent the daily two hour practice sessions grounding their charges in position and play fundamentals in addition to rounding them into shape for the 40-minute games.
Kirkland leads the squad in size with 27 men reporting. Leverett has 25 Lowell 24, Dudley and Eliot 23, Dunster 18, Adams 17, and Winthrop 13.
