"Roots of Western Culture" Is Richards' Topic Tomorrow

"Armchair Auditing," the latest brainchild program of the Crimson Network, will bring to the air tomorrow night the first of a series of regular academic lectures by professors and department heads in the University.

"We feel that many students desire to hear some of the famous Harvard faculty outside the limitations of their own individual curricula," L. Magruder Passano '46 said last night in announcing the first of the weekly series. He added that "the lectures will be entirely serious in nature but will be sufficiently broad and elementary to be interesting to any one in the general college public."

Initiating the series will be Ivor A. Richards, University professor of General Education, whose subject will be "The Roots of Western Thought," which is the basis of the new General Education course in the Humanities. The program will run from 9 to 10 o'clock.
