Varsity and Freshman Soccer Teams Depart For Hanover to Take On Indians Tomorrow

Coach James MacDonald ran his Varsity soccer team through a short scrimmage at the Business School field yesterday in the final practice of the week before the game with Dartmouth at Hanover this Saturday. Both the Varsity and Freshman teams leave for the lair of the big Green by bus at 4 o'clock today.

The Varsity will not be at full strength for Saturday's game, and Mac Expects to have to juggle his lineup all through the contest in order to keep the team running at full efficiency. Besides the less of al Merck, first-string fullback, he will also have to get along without the services of his starting right wing, Jocko smith, who is sidelined with what the doctors cryptically call an injured leg.

Gus Seamans, one of the starting half backs last week, will also not make the trip to Hanover because of two injured knees.

"I've been trying to develop as many utility players on the squad as possible," Mac said yesterday, "and at Dartmouth we'll see how that policy paid off." In line with this statement Mac has been grooming captain Blauco as a replacement at fullback and has played Arnold Corrigan at either the halfback or wing positions. Curtis Cate a new addition to the first-string squad, is available for both the inside or outside positions on the forward line.

Led by its newly elected captain, Jim Bell, the Freshman soccer team will be look in for its sixth win of the season at the New Hampshire ski resort this Saturday. Although not much information has flittered through about the Dartmouth Freshman team if it has any of the class of the Varsity, it will be a stiff test for the Yardlings.
