Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Cambridge tiolets spent another flushless hour yesterday afternoon, as the city's water mains spung two more leaks to bring the week's total to seven.
The Lake View Avenue geyser which bubbled to the surface early Sunday morning and kept late sabbath sleepers from their afternoon baths is still going strong, the water works reported last night. Crews have been working on the break since its discovery but are having a hard time plugging it up. Flooded cellars and furious pumping operations have given that section of Cambridge a bit of Mississippi River charm.
The other breaks that appeared this week were quickly tracked down and brought under control, with some being traced to leaky valves and others to the mains themselves. The city fathers have attributed the epidemic to a mysterious earthquake that has not been picked up by the University seismograph.
