To stimulate the steady growth of its membership and increasing interest in its official "statement of intentions," the Cambridge chapter of the American Veterans Committee has called a public meeting 8 o'clock Thursday, January 31, at the Cambridge Y.M.C.A. near Central Square, Kingman Brewster, Jr., Yale '41 and temporary chairman of the chapter, said last night.
Temporary Committees Named
Originally projected as a strictly Harvard-M.I.T. group, the members petitioned the national headquarters at an organizational meeting last week to be allowed to adopt the present title, backing up their decision by appointing several Cambridge residents to key positions on the veterans' affairs, local affairs, and membership committees.
Student members of the following committees are: treasurer, and rules committee, Frank Frazer 1PA; secretary, John Peasley 1PA; membership, George Delaney 1GB, George Cunningham '42, and Deborah Solbert, a Radcliffe student; publicity, John Goodbody 1G and Henry Shames 1L; national affairs, James Lanegan 3L; international affairs, Cord Meyer 1G--an original A.V.C. member--and George Hoffman 1G; and legislation, Charles Choate 1L.
