Leonard Carmichael, president of Tufts, and Karl P. Compton, president of M.I.T., will lead a forum on "Post-War Compulsory Military Training" to be held in Emerson D Monday night at 8:15 o'clock.
President Conant was scheduled to be the third speaker at the meeting, but he declined the invitation. Although in Washington over the weekend, President Conant is expected back Sunday morning, but no further information is avail bale as to the reasons for his absence.
The meeting will not be a debate, but merely a discussion to cover all phases of the question and draw some conclusions. Normally the three would offset each other, for Compton and Carmichael are both reputed to be mildly for the draft.
Open only to undergraduates of the University and their guests, the program will be sponsored by American Defense--Harvard Group, the Liberal Union, Harvard Teachers' Union, and sever M.I.T. organizations.
