Since Pearl Harbor, Hollywood has been trying to turn out a good war picture. At last something has come. "Air Force" is a fine film about a group of flyers and their plane. Something like the group of "In Which We Serve," the story centers around an implement of war--a bomber--and the men who man it.
There isn't one star in this picture. John Garfield, Harry Carey, and George Tobias seem to do most of the talking, but every man is important. The love angle is big, but it doesn't concern women. The plane is the sweetheart, and practically steals the picture.
