The big drum, which the army wanted to use for storing flying fortresses during the war, will be out on the field for the first time since 1942 at the Yale game, G. David Schine '49, leader of the Harvard University Band, said yesterday. The drum, which requires a special truck to transport it, is pulled by two men and beaten by one.
Schine also said that he hopes to be able to pull off some stunts, possibly in collaboration with the Dramatic Club, which will remind people of the old days. The nature of these shenanigans he can not disclose, but he indicated that efforts would be made to leave the Yale Bowl intact.
