Harvard Still On Track To Reach Fossil Fuel-Neutral Status by 2026, Sustainability Report Finds
Harvard's minor sports program shifts into high gear tomorrow as two soccer games and a cross-country meet mark the official opening of the all season.
Almost in the shadow of the stadium, the A soccer team will tangle with Tufts in an attempt to hand the Jumbos a second defeat in one afternoon. At the same time the B team will play Exeter away.
Rounding out an already full sports card, the cross-country team will encounter both Northeastern and Worcester Polytech in a triangular meet on the 3.7 mile Charles River run.
Coaches Mikkola and MacDonald are both dubious concerning the outcome of tomorrow's contests and are apparently pinning their hopes of victory on a few holdovers, Vice, Moriarty for cross-country and Howie Reckis and George Chen for soccer, from last season. Both teams are urgently seeking additional player material.
A week from tomorrow the cross country team entrains for Hanover, while the soccer team plays Worcester Polytech at Worcester.
The soccer lineup for the Tufts game: g Arias, rf Reckis, lf Ransom, ch McKinney, rh Ruibal, lf Seamons, ol Chen, il Chun, cf Miller, ir Azcarraga, or Dawson.
