Man Who Managed Clients for High-End Cambridge Brothel Network Pleads Guilty
Unveiling a fast-breaking, razzle-dazzle attack, Coach Rip Engel's highly-touted Brown University Bruins clawed out a 70 to 41 victory over an outclassed Crimson quintet Wednesday evening in the Indoor Athletic Building.
Harvard's Mike Keene battled 6 foot 2 center Johnny Bach in a thrilling individual scoring duel, with the Brown star winning out by the slim margin of one basket, 20 points to 13.
Smooth Passing
The visitors concentrated in the first half on feeding Bach in under the basket with set-ups which the Bruin pivot man was flipping in from all angles. Halftime score was Brown 39, Harvard 19.
Held to three field goals in the first half, acting captain Mike Keene raised his game total to 18 points by tipping in 12 more points in the final half. Most of his baskets were coming on rebounds tapped in from under the backboard.
Despite sloppy ball handling and general lack of drive, the home team displayed improvement, in view of the opposing team's rating as one of the finest squads in New England. Mike Keene's effort, in a losing cause, was his best college performance to date.
Lightning--Like Action
Superior from the spectator's point of view to the brand of ball the Crimson had displayed in earlier games, the Brown tilt was thrill-packed throughout, featuring smooth, quick-breaking plays, which usually resulted in scores.
Before the feature tilt, the Crimson B team was nosed out 34 to 33 in the program's opener. Next varsity competition is scheduled for tomorrow night, when Coach Stahl's outfit invades. Tuft's Cousens Gym for a return game with the Jumbos.
