U.S. Signal Corps Needs Technicians At Fighting Fronts

Lt. Massack Says Character Worth More Than Schooling

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In an army appeal to draft exempt citizens between 18 and 35, Lieutenant Stanley W. Massack said men are needed to do vital work in the Signal Corps, stressing that "The positions are so closely connected with the fighting fronts that only persons of unquestioned loyalty, integrity, and highest moral standards need apply."

Though security prevents the release of details, the work in general is clerical, analytical, or mechanical in nature. Positions to both men and women are open with requirements varying from two years in high school with business experience to a full college education. Those with college degrees may qualify as research aids.

Lieutenant Massack stated that, although the government is looking for high school or college graduates, the applicant's character is to be considered more important than education. A full investigation by the War Department will be made before any appointments are made.

Those interested may gain further information by writing to Lieutenant Massack, U. S. Employment Office, 112 Union Street, Providence, Rhode Island. Lieutenant F. V. Brow, who is associated with Lieutenant Massack, will be at the Student Employment Office, Weld 28, from 1 to 4 o'clock on Thursday, February 1, to interview applicants. Those desiring interviews should make a definite appointment at the Employment Office before February 1.
