8 Takeaways From Harvard’s Task Force Reports
With the last week of the intramural softball league already under way, it appears definite that the race will be decided on the last day of the season. The games run through this Friday and the outcome will be undecided until the games on that day have been completed.
Company C Takes Lead
As things stand today, Company C is leading the competition with a record of four wins against no defeats. The dethroned leader, Company D, is right behind them with four victories and one loss, suffered at the hands of the present incumbents last Friday. The score of this vital but loosely played game was 11 to 8 in favor of C and valued them right into the first slot.
In the other game on Friday, Adams House trounced Lowell in the only all-civilian game on the whole 28-game card by a score of 10 to 4. In yesterday's results, Company A defeated the Gold Coasters in one of the lowest scoring games of the campaign. The final tally was 3 to 1 in favor of the sailors.
Company I Faces Company C
Tomorrow the third place club, Company I, will tackle Company C to see whether they can do anything to shatter the leader's four gaiue winning streak. If they win, they will be tied for first with C with a record of four and one. However, if second place Company D can put Lowell House away, then D will again be back in first place with a record of five and one.
Those last few days of the race promise to show baseball under real tension, with the championship riding on every pitch. On Thursday, Lowell will meet Company A and Adams will see action when it tangles with Company B. Then the important games on Friday will wind up the season.
After this week, the intramural sports program will feature hardball competition. This will be organized on the same system that the softball was, with eight teams in the league, each playing twice a week. The schedule is in the process of being drawn up, and will be announced as soon as it is ready.
