Dunster House made a clean sweep of the intramural sports program this past week, nosing out Company D of the V-12 unit last Monday for the College softball championship, and narrowly eking out a victory over Adams House yesterday afternoon for the civilian House baseball crown.
Both games were hard-fought, nip-and-tuck affairs. Both went considerably over the seven-inning limit. Monday's softball game was won with a 4 to 2 score by virtue of a two-run outburst in the eleventh inning.
Yesterday's victory over Adams came in the tenth inning, by a 9 to 8 margin. Long George Beckmann pitched both games for Dunster. Clark Carnaby was on the mound for Company D, while Hugh Wheelwright worked for the Gold Coasters.
This afternoon at 3:15 o'clock the Funsters will play Company D for the baseball championship of the College. Wednesday the D-men took the measure of Company A, 8 to 0, to clinch the Navy League baseball crown. On the mound were Dana Bresnahan for Company D and Tom Reeder for Company A.
