To promote interest in philosophy and the humanities the Philosophy Department has announced a series of three lectures by Irwin Edman, visiting lecturer in Philosophy, to be held at 4 o'clock on successive Friday afternoons beginning April 14 In Emerson 211.
The first lecture will deal with "Moral Faith and Moral Criticism." The following week, on Friday, April 21, Professor Edman will discuss "Religious and Philosophical Imagination." The final lecture on Friday, April 28, will be concerned with "Philosophy in the Context of the Arts."
Professor Edman is on leave from Columbia and teaches two philosophy courses here, Philosophy 5a, "The Development of the Democratic Idea," and Philosophy 6, "The Philosophy of Art."
