George Auld to Play At Freshman Jubilee

Formal Will Be Held Friday, May 19 in Memorial Hall

George Auld and his orchestra have been selected to provide the music for the Class of '47 Freshman Jubilee Friday night, May 19, when Memorial Hall will, for the second time, be the scene of the annual Freshman dance, the Jubilee Committee announced last night.

The dance is to be formal and will last from 10 to 2 o'clock. Plans are being completed to have Mem Hall professionally decorated for the occasion. Special liberty has been granted to the V-12 and NROTC Units so that they may attend. Tickets will go on sale soon in all the Houses.

This year's Jubilee will be a return engagement for Auld as the saxophonist's orchestra alternated with Ruby Wallace's orchestra at the Class of '45 Jubilee, the last dance to be held in the Freshman Union.

Announcing that the dance will be open to all upperclassmen, the Committee also stated that stags will be welcomed. In the absence of plans for a '47 Smoker, the Jubilee will probably represent the only coordinated social effort of the Class of '47.
