After a long-drawn-out struggle, Henry N. Lamar, coach of the Varsity football team, yesterday won a handball tournament held among the members of the athletic department. By beating Coach Rawson of the ASTP, former boxing instructor here, in the final round, Coach Lamar, a pretty good boxer in his own right, firmly established himself as the acknowledged local handball champion.
A field of 12 assorted coaches and Navy Chiefs started the tournament, four of them drawing byes in the first round. Coach Lamar swept through all opposition, winning every game in each of the four matches in which he played. He won the final match against Coach Rawson by the scores of 21-15 and 21-12.
