Plans are being made this week for Harvard's informal participation in intercollegiate baseball this spring. A schedule will be announced Thursday by the Harvard Athletic Association, and Coach Floyd Stahl has issued a call for all baseball candidates.
Stahl has asked all men interested in spring baseball here to report to him tomorrow afternoon at 4:45 o'clock at the Indoor Athletic Building Gymnasium. The meeting will be held partly to give Floyd an indication of just what material he will have to work with, but the primary purpose will be to insure that the team gets its hands on potential pitchers and catchers before the late March warmup period has passed.
Four veterans of last summer's team, which played service teams and colleges all over the Boston area, are returning to College this term. They include Bill Sutz, summer third sacker, Slattery, first baseman last year, Jim Clark, veteran outfielder, and Billy Hardy, catcher for the summer aggregation.
Spring preparation will be hampered this year by the fact that the Le Baron Briggs Cage has been taken over for calisthenics by servicemen and given an asphalt floor, but indoor work for pitchers and catchers will go on as usual.
