In preparation for the Rhode Island State College dual relay meet on January 13 in Briggs Cage, Coach Jaako Mikkola has scheduled workouts for today and tomorrow on the indoor oval.
Two relays, mile and two mile, have been arranged with a 40 minute break between the two. Time trials to decide which men are best qualified to make up these two Crimson relay teams, will be held a week from tomorrow.
Although beaten by Tufts in the winter opener, the Crimson showed plenty of potential power, particularly in the field events, where Mikkola's two field entries, Freshman Jeff Tootel, and V-12er Pete Harwood copped their respective shot and vault events with case.
Tootel, national interscholastic shotput title-holder, may get a chance to see action in the Boston YMCA meet some time late in February. Other meets scheduled for the Crimson include away duals with Exeter on January 20 and with Andover on January 27.
