SERVICE NEWS COMPETITION WILL OPEN TOMORROW NIGHT

News, Business, and Photo Candidates Report at 7:30

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The road to fame, fortune, and free beer will be opened tomorrow night when the HARVARD SERVICE NEWS opens its winter competition at 7:30 o'clock. The portals to the building at 14 Plympton Street will be open to all men, civilian or V-12, who want to learn a little journalism, acquire business experience, or develop some photographic skill.

Good for Freshmen

This competition offers to Freshmen who now have their feet on the ground an opportunity to participate in one of Harvard's foremost extra-curricular activities. A former editor will always look back on the time he spent working on the paper as time as well spent as on anything else in College. The experience, developed sense of responsibility and the good friends that one makes is something that no student can get in any course offered.

Four Week Minimum

A unique feature of the competition is that previous experience is not necessary since high school journalism differs in many respects from that used in a college paper. The duration of the competition will be a minimum of four weeks and there will be a recess during the exam period so there will be no interference with examination preparation.
