Crimson Eleven Plays Coast Guard Nov. 20

To Hold-Scrimmage At Tufts Tomorrow

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

The 500 students who signed the petition for a football game with Yale were doomed to disappointment by the announcement in New London, conn. yesterday that the Coast Guard Academy would play Harvard on November 20, traditional date for the Yale game.

Carrol F. Getchell, acting director of athletics, said last night that the game was not yet completely definite, but that final arrangements would probably be made today. The question of whether the game is to be played here or whether the Crimson squad must take the 100-mile trip to New London is still undecided.

No comment has been received yet from New Haven, where athletic authorities had been holding the date open on the chance that Harvard might consider the 150 miles between New Haven and Cambridge a reasonable distance for the Eli eleven to travel.

Meet Tufts Tomorrow

With the hope of a Yale game taken away, the Crimson eleven is concentrating on immediate tasks, and the practice game at Tufts on Saturday is first on the list. Lamar's men will go into the game with only about onefourth the practice of the Jumbos, and so their showing is not expected to be as good as the one they should put on when the two clubs meet on November 13.

For his tentative starting eleven, Lamar, yesterday chose Tom Haymond and Frank Bolt at the end posts; Steve Mallett and George Hibbard at the tackles; Wally Mroz and Gibby King at the guards; Ed Donovan at center; and a backfield composed of Dick Warren, Swede Anderson, Joe Lauterbach, and Paul Garrity.
