College to Run Conditioning For Civilians, Army, Navy

Civilians to Start Exercising Monday

All Navy V-12, Army ASTP, and civilian students will participate in the same conditioning program this term as soon as the Physical Education Department gets the set-up organized.

Norman W. Fradd, assistant director of Physical Education, and his staff have been asked to set up and direct the entire program with the assistance of naval personnel. The combined efforts will ease the over-crowding and inconvenience that two separate programs would cause. Beginning July 12 the navy and civilian students will attend amalgamated exercise classes. Like last term, four one hour classes on different days will have to be taken each week.

Because of classroom requirements the AST unit has a separate program already established but still run by the Physical Education Department. The military students have been working out on Soldiers Field since June 14 but will probably drop into the Navy and civilian program soon.

Fradd, Henry Lamar, Jimmie Cox, Frank Vaughan, Hai Ulen, Bert Haines, Ken Dennison, Floyd Stahl, and Adoin Samborski sided by Ensign Ray T. M. kins and Chief Specialists New man Thomas, Lloyd, and Martin are striving to bring utmost cooperation among the units in order to continue boosting the physical standards of students as low as they stay at Harvard. The program will be changed and accelerated even eight weeks to keep up with the physics development of the student.

With the initiation of the program a Monday, students are urged to check with a monitor on the time and place that their activity will be held. Class will start promptly on the hour that the are announced, and monitors have been instructed, to be hard bailed with the late comers.

What is Offered

Floyd Stahl will gather the binge bouncers on the Varsity baseball diamond at Soldiers Field for a hit fest and a ball session from 4 to 6 o'clock daily. Those who are talented are urged to come out, but the squad will have to be cut to a manageable size.

Weld Boat House will be open from 2 to 6 o'clock daily except Saturday to the paddle pullers. The morning classes will be held in the Indoor Athletic Building but the students will go across the river in the P. M. Body building, boxing Judo, and stunts will fill our the hour.
