STUDENT COUNCIL BEGINS ACTIVITIES

New Members Set to Start Consolidation

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

With the necessary representation restored by the addition of new members, the Harvard Student Council is once again organized to handle the problems which arise during the college year. First among these is the integration of the many parts of the College under its new and bewildering setup.

So important is this task of achieving close unity between the civilian college and the armed force reserve programs here that revision of the S. C. Constitution will be undertaken in the near future, and a social relations committee may be instituted.

New Members Scattered

Noted as an active member of last year's Freshman class Worth B. Daniels, Jr. '46 of Lowell House and Fort Bragg, N. C., has been named as one of the three new appointees to the College's leading undergraduate body. His appointment, with that of John W. Ellison '44 of Adams House and Boise, Idaho, insures equal representation to all three civilian Houses, for James E. McNulty '45 has retained his Council membership while moving to Dunster House.

Editor of the SERVICE NEWS and a member of the NROTC, Robert S. Landau '45 of V-12 Barracks and New York City is the third man selected.

Piedge Drive Continues

Under the direction of Council Treasurer Andrew W. Welch, Jr. '44, another V-man, the Harvard Service Fund drive has been organized on a House basis. Collection committees will be composed of representative undergraduates who are known for past connections with PBH, the Crimson, Freshman, affairs and collegiate sports.

As outlined in the annual council reports, the funds collected from pledges are employed to meet the needs of local and national charities, with the Red Cross a typical benefactor.
