Admiral Theobald was the highest ranking naval officer present, while Colonel William S. Wood, FA, represented the army in the reviewing party. John W. Farley, chairman of the College's visiting committee; Dean Chase, representing University President James B. Conant, Dean Hanford; Dean Buck; Charles Francis Adams, President of the Board of Overseers; and Ralph Lowell, President of the Harvard Club of Boston, headed the civilian section of the party.
