Climaxing a year of intensified preparation for service, 540 members of Harvard's Field Artillery and Quartermaster R.O.T.C.'s will march in their annual Spring Review on Wednesday afternoon before a distinguished party led by Governor Saltonstall and Major General Miles, head of the First Service Command.
Held earlier this year than usual, the review will include an inspection of the FA Regiment's equipment and personnel by Col. Dean Hudnutt, Yale PMS&T, and a demonstration by the unit of several elements of Field Artillery methods.
All cadets will form in the Yard at 2:15 o'clock, and, led by the undergraduate FA Regiment, will swing down Boylston Street to the music of the 241st Coast Artillery band. Arriving at Soldiers Field, they will first be inspected and then pass in review before the visiting group.
Others in the party include, in addition to the Governor and General Miles, Dean Buck and Dean Chase, Capt. George N. Barker, head of the Naval Training Schools, Col. William S. Wood, commander of all Army Schools here, and Col. Hudnutt.
To Give Demonstrations
The formal review over, the 240 Mil Sci men will fall out into four demonstration teams, which will exhibit their training in the firing battery, gunnery, fire direction, and foot drill. With Cadet Col. James H. Reynolds, Jr. in charge, the demonstration will last until 4:45 o'clock. All men will then reassemble for retreat ceremonies.
Col. Hudnutt's inspection of the Military Science Dep't. and cadets will continue through Tuesday, while Col. Wood will visit Yale next week to return the inspection as the representative of the First Service Command. Lt. Col. Edgerton Merrill will conduct the federal inspection of the QM unit.
