The annual Harvard ROTC spring review will be held early this year because of the college's wartime schedule. The review will take place at Soldiers Field next Wednesday, April 28, and both Field Artillery and Quartermaster Regiments will participate.
Colonel Dean Hudnutt, PMS&T of Yale will be inspecting officer for the First Service Command, for the F.A. unit, and will review the unit and inspect all equipment and personnel Wednesday and Thursday. Col. Wood will journey to Yale the following week to inspect the Yale ROTC unit.
Lt. Col. Edgerton Merrill, senior quartermaster officer at headquarters of the First Service Command in Boston, will conduct the annual Federal inspection of the Quartermaster ROTC unit.
An informal guard mount will be held Wednesday with 20 QM cadets participating. Cadet Captain Tom Pulmer will act as Officer of the Day and Cadet Private Amos Fisher as Officer of the Guard.
In the morning Lt. Col. Merrill will attend classes in Quartermaster Administration and other subjects and will inspect classrooms, equipment, methods of instruction, and records of the unit. His findings will be reported to the War Department in Washington.
All cadets will form massed battalions in the Yard at 1415 and will march from there to the Stadium along Boylston Street, the FA unit preceding. After inspection and passing in review, the cadets will again form in the drill field and will hold the usual retreat ceremony. Music for all marching will be supplied by the band of the 241st Coast Artillery.
