Due to the large turnout expected, the party for Engineering 270 (present and ex) has been moved from the Faculty Club to Memorial Hall to give us a little breathing space.
By the way, we have quite a list of star performers headed by Colonel Fox who is going to play the violin and 'cello. Mr. Lett and Lt. Walker, both amateur magicians of no mean skill, are going to put on a twin magician show. Lt. Tirico (what is a lawyer doing in Electronics School?) has a very good voice and it won't be the first time he has sung before an audience. We need some good barber shop harmony, so get together and come on over because the more that join the merrier.
Refreshments
There are going to be plenty of refreshments for which we can thank the committee headed by Captain Nolan's wife. Last, but certainly not least, is the mysterious document of Major Fay's-- "The Last Will and Testament of Adolph Hitler" the first and last showing, he claims.
You members and staffs of Engineering 270, 260, and Soil Engineers and your friends are cordially invited to come and enjoy dancing, entertainment and refreshments. We'll be seeing you Saturday, April 17th at 8:00 P.M.

Never let it be said that engineers have no feeling toward their sometimes dull subjects. Poetry, no less. This is the first contribution, let's have more of the same.
RLC's
I fear that I shall never see
A circuit like the RLC;
A circuit in whose arms are bound
Harmonic currents circling round;
A circuit where, when Q is par,
L cancels C, and Z is R.
A circuit where the frequency
Means everything to L and C;
A circuit in which energy
Is stored away, and still set free;
Poems are made by fools like me
But I can't change from N to T.
Lt. (jg) Robert B. Rypinski, USNR
(With apologies to Joyce Kilmer)

The Hasty Pudding Club certainly deserves a word of praise. Those of us who eat over there at noon, and have the use of the club facilities, probably don't realize that they are actually operating at a loss to serve us those delicious meals. At least so they say, and the meals would seem to justify their contention.

Don't forget that this is your column, so how about some more contributions? Bring them to Room 237, Research Laboratory or Physics, or hand them to Ensign Fitzpatrick or Major Fay.
