Compiling a margin of 34 votes over a two-day polling period, Richard A. Chenoweth, of Akron, Ohio and Eliot House led a group of ten successful candidates for the Freshman Jubilee Committee, Frank S. Whiting '46, who was in charge of the election, announced last night.
Placing second in a total field of 32 nominees was Robert A. Fisher, of Birmingham, Michigan and Leverett House, who amassed 211 votes. Third man to be selected, and one vote behind Fisher, was Douglas Danner of Waban and Lowell House.
These three pace-makers were followed by Thomas A. Caldwell, Jr., of Chattanooga, Tennessee and Adams House with 201 ballots, L. Magruder Passano, 3rd of Staten Island, N. Y. and Kirkland House with 187, and James A. DeWeese, of Kent, Ohio and Leverett House, 176.
The final four were Samuel S. Hall, 3rd, of Needham and Lowell House, drawing 169 ballots, Dana Fernald, of Merien Station, Pa. and Adams House, and Richard G. Axt, of North Bergen, N. J. and Kirkland House tied for eighth place at 168 apiece, and finally James D. Cameron, Jr., of Lenox and Kirkland House with 165 votes.
The committee thus selected will swing into action tonight at 7 o'clock in the Lowell House Junior Common Room, Whiting revealed. At this meeting a chairman for the committee will be elected and plans for the Jubilee itself will be talked over.
Chief item on the committee's agenda will be a selection of a date for the Jubilee weekend. So far, no indication has been given of a possible date. Also up for consideration is the matter of a suitable orchestra within the range of the somewhat reduced proportions of the traditional Freshman gathering.
