"Extending greetings" to the 3500 service men assigned for study in Harvard University, the College has just published a pamphlet entitled "Harvard and the Service Schools" which will serve as a guide to the new service men on what to find in Cambridge, and, more particularly, in Harvard.
Accurate up to February 1, 1943, the bulletin information "about the University and its history, local churches, where to go for rooming, social functions at the University, the University Committee on Wartime Personnel, places of interest to visit in the neighborhood, and other matters."
Of particular interest to the new men in the University is the University Committee on Wartime Personnel, of which Richard Waite, Graduate Secretary of Phillips Brooks House is Secretary, and Mrs. James B. Conant is chairman of the auxiliary Women's Committee.
The Committee has made attending to the housing problem one of its chief concerns, and on the 25th of each month, the office publishes a bulletin of current rentals which may be obtained at the office.
The pamphlet also includes a--paragraph on Credits for educational Work in Armed Services which outlines a program for considering special educational work completed in the Army or Navy as accredited courses to be counted for a Harvard degree in post-war years.
