Well, here 'tis another week and again we have no time to write home to Ma, much less write columns for newspapers. But we've got our pants now and nothing can mar our happiness. So, pardon us if we just muse for 250 words or so... to express that carefree spirit which is ours?
Sorry to mislead you girls on the bowties for last Saturday, but you gotta start a column with something! It was a nice party, anyhoo, thanks to hundreds of beautiful girls, including our chief hostess, Mrs. Giard, who's mad at me for reading the funnies while dancing... The only unpopular guy there was somebody named Paul Jones who seemed to lose friends and alienate people after 2300 and two drinks with the same woman. At least Ruby Newman had a helluva good time.
Heard on the steps of Cowie Hall... one ensign says to t'other ensign ... "Let's get out of here before we get trampled on. Here comes the Mosquito Battalion."...and, so help me Wopeco, a guy at my table said last Friday, "Please pass the erasers."
In answer to the Crimson's cries for cooperation we sent in a few suggestions for mastheads which they probably won't use, but the Navy came through, anyhow. Of course the $25 bond will still be accepted in Box C24 Chase, along with all other scoops and queries.
Some things we promised to unscuttle last week still are not entirely clear. But here's what we hear from usually collapsible sources.... The cooperative housing movement is progressing, but fast. One of the Harvard apartment dorms across the river is being renovated. Although still occupied, negotiations are "proceeding very satisfactorily" and prospects for June 1st occupancy (or sooner), at $45 to $70 per month look rather hopeful
