Means of finding places in the war effort for members of the faculties of colleges and universities whose services are not needed for teaching during the emergency are being studied in the regional office of the Commission on Wartime Placement of College Faculties. This new organization is sponsored by the Association of American Colleges and has regional offices throughout the coutnry.

John C. Baker, associate dean of the University, is regional director of the commission, with jurisdiction over the New England district. His appointment was made by President Conant. President Harold W. Dodds of Princeton is chairman of the commission.
