Radcliffe to Dispense with Summer Secretarial Schools

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Succumbing to the drastic change of a tri-semester term, Radcliffe summer secretarial schools and the Radcliffe play groups will have to be dispensed, according to an announcement by Miss Edith B. Stedman, director of the Radcliffe appointment bureau.

Most potent influence in causing the summer shut-down is the full utilization of Radcliffe facilities resulting from a large number of students taking the new term plus a doubling in the number of WAVES that occupy the women's campus.

The early commencement in May will create a four to five month vacation for those students who do not choose to take the summer sessions. It is hoped that the Cliffe-dwellers will take advantage of this longer free period to get jobs in defense industry, Miss Stedman pointed out.
