With first call for spring drill set to blow April 5, the Military Science Department yesterday announced the appointment of James H. Reynolds, Jr. '43 as Cadet Colonel of the Harvard Regiment.
Reduced from four battalions to two as a result of the draft and graduation of former Mil Sci 4 students, the Regiment will continue activities in much the same form as last fall, with drill on one of two days a week for all men. Major change is the fusing of Mil Sci 4 and 4x (Class of '44), with the top posts in the unit going to the best men in either class.
Regimental Adjutant
Regimental adjutant will be Class Major Stuart McCarty '44, with Cadet Captain Thomas M. Stanton '44 and Cadet Sergeant Paul B. Akin '44 filling out the Regimental headquarters. Heading the First Battalion will be Cadet Major John E. Corrigan, Jr. '44, with Cadet Major William P. Slichter '44, in command of the Second Battalion.
Because of the absence of a Mil Sci 2 class the organization of the unit will be somewhat different this year, with third year cadets, who would ordinarily be sergeants, acting as corporals and privates, and many Mil Sci 4 men as sergeants.
