Thirty candidates greeted Coach Floyd Stahl at Briggs Cage yesterday afternoon, as the baseball team opened practice for the spring campaign. Several veterans were on hand, and Stahl will probably build his 1943 nine around these men.

Hurlers Warren Berg, Jim Phelan and Jim Wilcox reported for duty, and catchers Gerry Calanuan and Bob Axtell were present. Other experienced men returning include Ned Fitzgibbons, Ray Fitz, Jim Gallagher, and Jay Gleason. The first official game for the Crimson is listed for early April.
