Conrad Explains War Issues In Mediterranean Climates

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

In an address relating the climate of the Mediterranean Region to the present war, Dr. V. A. Conrad, Robert DeCiurcy Ward Research Associate in Climatology, discussed before an audience composed mainly of soldiers, sailors and WAVES the weather tendencies which gravely influence fighting taking place on the African battlegrounds.

The Nazis, in their recent campaign in Egypt, found the boiling days and freezing nights sufficient cause for conducting all their action at night in air-conditioned tanks, he stated. Also important is the ever-changing climate which makes any predictions hazardous. Dr. Conrad accompanied his lecture with slides of the Mediterranean region.
