Bela Bartok, internationally known Hungarian composer and authority on Balkan folk songs and modern music, will join the University teaching staff during the spring term, Professor Arthur T. Merritt, chairman of the department of Music, revealed recently.

Bartok will offer a series of lectures and conferences under the Horatio Appleton Lamb Fund. The first of the eight lectures will be given on February 9 in the Music Building.

While in residence at the University, Bartok will live in Eliot House and will be available to students interested in voluntary work in music.
