CHIEF SPECIALISTS LOYD, MARTIN COMMISSIONED

Two chief petty officers of the V-13 unit, Chief Specialists Sherman Loyd and H. Dale Martin, recently received commissions.

C. Sp. Loyd was commissioned as Lieutenant (jg) in the USNR in Texas and is now stationed there. C. Sp. Martin, who was made an ensign, will remain here. Martin has been officer of the day. He was formerly a student at Oklahoma A. & M., where he boxed and played football. Both Martin and Loyd helped coach the Harvard football team.
