The Harvard soccer squad dropped another game to the Tufts booters at Medford Saturday, 2-0. The second team, however, made it two in a row by shellacking Exeter there, 7-1.
The stars of the game on the Crimson's side were Julio Ortega and Herb Allen. Even though the team did not lose any of its main players by graduation or to the draft, it was not strong enough to overcome the Tufts aggregation, which was just powerful enough to handle the Johnnies.
Crimson Outplayed
The game at Tufts was the Varsity's first real chance at intercollegiate competition. Pre-game information rated the Crimson better than the Jumbos, but the boys from Medford turned out such good kicking and fast field play that the Harvard team was totally outplayed.
The Varsity's record for the year stands at four losses and a tie. Before Saturday's game, they had lost to the Fleet Air Arm of the Royal Navy 7 to 1 and tied the squad 3 to 3; to Worcester Polytechnic Institute they lost 7 to 2; and in their final fray of last term the sailors of the French battleship Richelieu were victorious, 3 to 1.
