Robert S. Landau was appointed by the Student Council last night to head a committee which will explore the educational structure of the College. Aided by Dean Hennessey and Jil Regan, he will investigate the tutorial system and the general examinations that are given at Harvard.
The Council is taking steps to instill in the students the old Jawn Harvard spirit by sponsoring rallies for the football team before the Boston College and Tufts contests. Bill Dunn will run the rallies and Bob Hoskins '16, is out scouting for some cheer-leading talent.
Steve Beder '47 was elected to a non- voting position on the Council. The annual charity budget was made up and Phillips Brooks House gets its share of $100. The Community Chest profited by $1000 as an allotment from the Council. The Red Cross was given a $500 sum to keep its activities functioning.
Tentative arrangements were made for the collection of the annual assessment for the Council's financial activities from the Navy V-12 Unit and the November Freshmen
