Harvard Business School graduates, representing more than two-thirds of the 31st graduating class of officer candidates at the Camp Lee, Virginia, Quartermaster School, were commissioned second lieutenants Friday.
The men, who comprised the initial advanced Quartermaster Reserved Officer Training Corps, received training at Harvard under Lt. Col. George F. Conner, associate professor of Military Science and Tactics. Following completion of the Harvard training, the men were sent to Camp Lee, where they underwent a 17 week period of intensive combat Quartermaster training under a rigorous academic and military program. The emphasis of the course was on military training, leadership, and control, including actual participation in field demonstrations under simulated battle conditions.
