Harvard Astronomer Finds New Comet Close to Earth

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Fred J. Whipple, tutor and lecturer in the department of Astronomy, recently made public the discovery of a comet which he first observed early in December, and on which he has since been formulating much data.

The new heavenly body, to be called Whipple Comet in honor of the Harvard star-gazer, is now as close to the earth as it will over come, so that it can be seen on a clear night with the aid of an ordinary pair of field glasses. It is said to have a tail some three million miles long.
