ENROLLMENT OF COLLEGE INCREASES; GRADUATE SCHOOLS FEEL WAR'S PINCH

When the doors of Memorial Hall close this afternoon on the last of the weary upperclassmen, figures should show a rise of 67 men over last year's total, bringing the enrollment of the College up to 3580. The bulk of this increase, however, will be in the huge Freshman class, as war hits the ranks of the upper classes.

Students accustomed to the luxury of a prolonged summer vacation, and late registration will be out of luck if they miss the deadline of 5 o'clock today. Disciplinary action will be in store for such men, the Dean's office sternly warned, and a fine will be imposed even if they are allowed to register.

More Freshmen Than '41

Comparison with figures for last September would indicate that 259 more men have entered the class of 1946 than registered last year. At the same time, however, upperclass enrollment will be slashed by an estimated 192 and no opinions were ventured on the number of men who might leave during the year.
