The Varsity tennis team, handicapped by the absence of Al Everts, who had a case of blisters, and Dick Sorlien, who had a cold, lost an informal match to a strong team from the Business School, 5 to 3.

In the number one singles, Jim Jenkins lost a close match to Bob Friedman, New England Intercollegiate Champion, 9-7, 9-7. Hugh Hyde scored an impressive win for the College team when he beat Ray Nasher, former number one man for Duke, in the number two singles match.

Ted Cohn and Freshman Mal Moley won their singles matches for the Varsity, but Vincent Brandt, another '46 star, lost a closely-contested match to Stacy Hill, former Dartmouth captain. Houston Warren and Humphrey Bannister, both '46, lost.
