Leverett maintained its top spot in the House baseball league Friday by nosing out Dudley 3 to 2 in the last inning, scoring twice in the seventh with two men out on Norm Cameron's single and some errors by the Rambler infield.
Reed Moyer pitched for the Bunnies, allowing six hits, while Bill McCauliffe gave the winners only four.
Also on Friday Kirkland defeated Adams 6 to 1 and Eliot batted out a 12 to 5 victory over Dunster in softball behind the pitching of Al Danoff and the home-run slugging of Harold Blackaby and Stan Goldberg.
Lowell managed to stay off Winthrop's last minute rallies in touch football, winning 4 1/3 to 4 touchdowns. In tennis, Kirkland scored a decisive win over Dunster 6 to 1 as the Deacon's first four men, Mel Kessel, Joe Weiss, Bob Weary, and John Andrews lost only one set.
Today Dunster and Kirkland, who are tied for the league lead in volleyball, both having six wins and one defeat, will decide the championship in a two out of three game contest.
