Behind the terse announcement from Wadsworth House Saturday that of 964 First Sessioners, only 388 girls will grace the second summer term lie meaningful undercurrents that may never be fully revealed.

One opinion whispers that the stringent 8:30 o'clock curfew imposed upon the Navy men in the Yard caused the damsels to while away all their time on cold, stone steps, and eventually to begin their disillusioned trek homeward.

Other informants ascribe the migration to frustration from beholding an unending line of unpressed seersucker jackets on round-shouldered Crimson undergraduates. Whatever the reason most of the girls have abandoned their campaigning on the eastern lines for a more promising drive upon the home front.
