Two more players reached the semi-final round of the University Tennis Tournament this week, first seeded Al Everts, Varsity number one man, and Mal Moley, Freshman racquet-wielder, who has been blazing a phenomenal trail in this tournament.
Everest defeated teammate Ted Cohn by the scores of 6-2, 6-2, while Moley eliminated a fellow Freshman, "Humpy" Moulton, 6-1, 6-2.
Hugh Hyde, Varsity number two man now that Jim Jenkins has left the second summer session, is still waiting for his quarter-final opponent to be decided. It will be either John T. Dunlop, instructor in Economics, who accounted for John Zinsser, number one '45 players, or Vincent Brandt, outstanding Freshman from St. George's.
The semi-final round, then, shapes up this way: Everts meets Moley; and Burton, who is already in the semi-final round by virtue of a default victory over-Jenkins, will play the winner between Hyde and the winner of the Dunlop-Brandt match.
