TENNIS MEET MOVES AHEAD

Lindley J. Burton '42, led the way into semi-final round of the University Tennis Tournament this week when he defeated Malcolm Stearns '36, 3G, in the second round, 4-6, 6-1, 6-4, Charles P. Stewart Jr., '45, in the second round 8-6, 6-3, and Jim Jenkins, Varsity number 2 man, by default in the quarter-final round since Jenkins is not going to be here for the second summer session.

Dr. John T. Dunlop, Faculty instructor in Economics, continued his winning ways by conquering John Zinsser Jr., number one on the '45 squad, 4-6, 7-5, 6-3 in the other second round match. Dunlop, a former University of California player, is rated as a dangerous dark horse to watch. He comes up against Vincent Brandt, excellent Freshman prospect, in the only third round match not yet played.

Everts Beats Warren

Al Everts, number one Varsity player and seeded first in the tourney, had little trouble taking Houston Warren '46, by the scores of 6-3, 6-2 in a third round match. In the other third matches played since Friday. Mal Moley, the Freshman upset star from California, defeated another '46 player, Humphrey Hannister, 6-2, 6-2. Hugh Hyde defeated Stan Collinson 6-4, 6-3; and Jenkins beat Ted Rowse 1GB, 6-1, 6-4.
