Supply Corps Decides On Building Mess Hall

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Plans are still in the making for a new mess hall to be constructed by the Navy Supply Corps School in Soldiers Field. The structure will do much to alleviate the pinch on dining hall facilities caused by increasing numbers of Navy trainees.

However, rebuilding by the Supply Corps of the interior of Cary Cage has recently been completed to adapt the building for an assembly and lecture hall. The Cage, completely transformed, has newly redecorated walls, a wooden floor over what formerly was hard-dirt, and a speaker's platform and restrum.

The remodeled structure first saw service on July 24, when it was the scene of the graduation of the latest class of the Navy Supply Corpa School. The Cage has also now potentially one of the finest ballroom floors in the Greater Boston Area.

Viewing the glistening dance floor and the snappy uniforms of passing cadets, an observer was heard to remark under his breath that the Navy had provided everything except the women.
