LEVERETT BALL TEAM BEATS ARMY BASE, 5-2

NO WRITER ATTRIBUTED

Alded by a pitching performance the like to which has seldom been seen on Soldiers Field, Leverett House's highly-vaunted softball team overcame an early deficit of 2-0 to defeat a strong outfit from the Boston Army Base, 5-2.

Prior to this encounter the soldiers had been riding along on the crest of a seven-game winning streak which was rudely interrupted by Phil Weeks sixth inning three-run homer. Tom Axon was the winning pitcher. Leverett also took the nightcap 8-1.
